The Calinda Beach and Spa (our hotel) with lagoon and main part of the
island in the background. This is the first hotel on the island's north end and is
centrally located for getting to downtown Cancun city and the malls in the middle areas of
the hotel zone. Buses travel the island to downtown 24 hours daily, at 10-minute
intervals, and cost fifty US cents. |

Susie relaxing on the Calinda's beach. The tall ship in the background
offers day "pirate" and sunset dinner cruises. I liked the beach chairs,
which featured "channels" on both inside edges for storing sunglasses, etc. |

Susie in front of the omnipresent Senor Frog's (Sorry, We Are Open),
which has more logo clothing outlets than bars. The bar features a slide into the lagoon
and if you take them up on it, you may get a free T-shirt. I imagine the slide is quite
busy during Spring Break... |

Forum by the Sea mall, home of the Hard Rock Cafe. A Rainforest Cafe is
also here. Across the street to the right is a bazaar and & two outdoor bars, one
featuring oldies music while the other is a sports bar. |
 |
Forum by the Sea interior, showing Hard Rock's entrance. The US theatre
chain Cinemark features current films in English. There's a third floor outdoor seating
area with fine views of the ocean. |

View of the beach and Hyatt from the balcony at Forum by the Sea. |

Looking south on the Calinda's beachfront. |

For when you can have only one Corona... It cost almost $2... On my right
wrist is a band you see many people wearing & which signifies they are on an
"all-inclusive" plan which includes all meals and drinks. Next time, it won't be
all-inclusive, so we can spread meals and drinks around... |

View of the Calinda we often saw as we walked back from the bus stop
returning from the downtown. |
