Friday, we spent the day walking a long loop which first took us south to the Santurce commercial district so we could check out a farmer's market. We then went east before heading north to end up at the eastern edge of Condado and then west to our area. |
| Saturday we rented a car and
drove to Ponce, the second largest city, on the south side of the
island. Although there's more than one way to get there, a toll
road is the fastest and you'll be there in less than two hours.
The appropriately named Plaza de las Delicias (Plaza of Delights) in the historic center is where all the action is, including a short pedestrian mall which has big sales on Saturdays for the day trippers from san Juan. An ice cream break at King's, on the plaza and possibly the island's best ice cream, is a must we didn't pass up. |

always..... (not alkaline batteries I needed) |
| Before heading back to San Juan, we made the short trip to La Guancha, Ponce's waterfront. There's a boardwalk and food kiosks, a marina and a beach. |
