Sevilla's main shopping area in the old city is along Sierpes, which was about 10 minutes east from our apartment. Most of the tourist destinations are further east of Sierpes so we typically had two opportunities each day to window shop. As is often the case, this portion of Sierpes is a "pedestrian" street closed to vehicles. Much of the shopping is concentrated between Plaza Duque on the west, where Corte Ingles is, and Plaza Nueva on the east. |

Just past the Sierpes shopping area is the very ornate City Hall. |

Just past Plaza Nueva are the Santa Cruz and Arenal neighborhood, where most of the old city's tourist attractions are. These include the Cathedral with it's famous bell tower, the Alcazar (fort), many large parks and gardens, and Plaza Espana. We chose Sunday to visit this area since the Cathedral is free Sundays and the next two days were reserved for day excursions to Jerez and Cordoba. |
