Downtown Phoenix has little "tourist" value but fortunately neighboring Scottsdale has an arts / entertainment /  shopping district that can easily take a day and night to explore.  But our evening "entertainment" was to drive a few miles north to Casino Arizona, off Highway 101, where we enjoyed $8 prime rib dinners.
(Half rack of ribs for the same price.)  Afterwards, I  played seven stud ($4 spread but they also have $6 structured) for two hours, was up $75 but lost a big hand to walk away with $40. (If you like poker hand stories,
here's mine). Susie played the slots and lost only $20.
