From Astoria, we headed south on the Pacific Coast Highway towards Tillamook. What impressed me most is how well Oregon has preserved public access to the coast - there's a state park every few miles all the way to the California border. |
| From Tillamook, Highway
101 jags inland, so we took the scenic Three Capes Loop (Capes Meares, Lookout &
Kiwanda) which follows the coast before rejoining Highway 101 back on the coast near
Cascade Head just north of Lincoln City. |

sitka spruce at Cape Meares has a base with a circumference of 50 feet & 6 limbs each
of which are 12 feet in circumference. |
Oceanside Beach, just south of Cape Meares and somewhere in the first photo in this set, provided a nice resting spot. |
