Monument Valley

Located within the Navajo resevation, Monument Valley offers spectacular scenery, some of which is recognizable from old western movies.  It is very "turista"; arrive early before the tours.   As we were leaving one area, a tour van pulled up and, on cue, a Navajo "cowboy" on a white horse (who had been tending a jewelry stall) struck a pose which provided a photo op against a John Wayne movie background.
