Tri-Decade Reunion - 50's, 60's
& 70's
September 6-7, 2007 |
|
About 120 alums partied with the Class of '57 at the Westin San Francisco Airport the weekend after Labor Day to celebrate the Class of 57's 50th anniversary. Two dozen Class of '57 alums attended and were the largest single class represented. Lita Rifkin Swiryn '43 represented the decade of the 40's. Although not an AISAAM reunion, it had many of the hallmarks: two wonderful dinners, live music, and Jeepney Jeopardy Tatlo. For a list of alums who attended, go here. It was the largest turnout for a non-AISAAM reunion! Principal reunion organizers David Nigel (57) and Rosie Cluman Calander (75) received numerous (and well-deserved) "maraming salamats" during and after the reunion for their hard work. Maraming salamat Dave and Rosie! |
| Although a number of alums arrived
during the week for pre-reunion vacation time in San Francisco as well
as micro-reunions with friends, the Westin became the focus of
alum activity early Friday afternoon.
Following a cocktail hour which included many San Miguels, alums enjoyed a spectacular Filipino buffet dinner, complete with a whole lechon, followed by an impressive dessert table. Throughout dinner, the Joson Brothers, a Filipino duet, provided music. After dinner, alums adjourned to the bar or lobby until early Saturday morning. I crawled back to the room about 3 a.m. |

| Although the cocktail hour officially began at 6:30, alums began mixing early Friday afternoon and the lobby was the scene of many micro-reunions. |
